Manhattan Birth has a team of lactation support professionals who provide private lactation consultations, virtually via Skype, FaceTime, or Zoom or in person at their Manhattan office on the Upper West Side. During a visit, the lactation consultants take a full history and complete a full feeding assessment, including evaluating anatomy, the baby's suck, and assessing milk transfer; for in-person visits they assess the baby's weight before and after a feeding. Clients work with the consultant to achieve an optimal, comfortable latch and to create a written feeding plan going forward. Sessions include follow-up and an abundance of resources to support a successful feeding relationship.
