Having Joann as my doula was amazing. My first birth experience I didn’t have a doula and it didn’t go as I had hoped, so this time around I wanted someone there to help advocate and support me and my partner. And Joann went above and beyond to make sure both me and my partner felt supported and loved before during and after labour. ?? I feel so bonded to her now and have a great admiration for her. I would suggest her to anyone getting ready to give birth!

We would absolutely recommend Joann to anyone looking for a doula! We are so grateful to have had her support us in our birth preparation, labour and delivery experience. The preparation sessions we did with Joann were incredibly informative and helped my husband and me feel so much more confident as first-time parents. She walked us through different situations and decisions that could come up during labour and delivery, which meant we had already had the chance to think about our options before we were in the intensity of the moment. The thing I appreciate most about our experience with Joann was how safe and capable she made me feel on the day of delivery. A lot of unexpected things happened that day – including going into labour three weeks early, an ambulance transfer to another hospital, and finding out my baby was sunny-side-up when it came time to push. There were so many ways that the day could have felt scary or overwhelming, but instead I somehow managed to feel calm and accepting of whatever was happening, and I largely credit that to Joann being there. The knowledge that we had such an experienced and supportive person alongside us gave me the space to let go of so much of the fear and focus on bringing our baby into the world. It was definitely a challenging and unexpected day, but it was also so beautiful, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I will always be grateful for the role Joann played in making it feel that way. Beyond being amazing at what she does, Joann is also just a wonderful human – warm, funny, sweet, and so knowledgeable about everything connected to having a baby. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!
