How Dallas parents choose

  • Every consultant here was checked against their own live practice website on 16 October 2026.
  • Posted fees are quoted exactly as published. An office visit runs $195 to $300 and a home visit $275 to $350, before any travel fee.
  • Four of the seven work together at Natural Beginnings (Garland and Mesquite) and two at Baby Latch Love (Plano); each has their own bio on the practice site.
  • Diana Chavez-Gifford offers lactation support in Spanish.
  • Blank fields mean we could not verify that detail, not that it does not exist.

Important

The consultants listed here are lactation professionals, not your baby’s medical team. For weight-gain concerns, jaundice, signs of dehydration, or any question about your baby’s health, speak to your midwife, family doctor or pediatrician. In an emergency call 911. IBCLCs work alongside your care team, not instead of it.

Common questions Dallas parents ask

How much does a lactation consultant cost in Dallas?

Posted self-pay prices on this page run from $195 to $300 for an office visit and from $275 to $350 for a home visit, with virtual consults from $150. Natural Beginnings adds a $20 travel fee for home visits over 30 minutes away. Every figure is quoted exactly as the practice posted it; where a consultant does not publish fees, the field is blank.

Is a lactation consultant covered by insurance in Dallas?

Often, yes. Natural Beginnings says it is in network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and most PPOs, Alyssa Peri accepts many Cigna, UHC and Tricare plans and offers a superbill otherwise, and Baby Latch Love offers an insurance coverage check. Home-visit fees and travel fees are not always covered, so check your own plan before you book.

Do Dallas lactation consultants do home visits?

Yes. Every consultant on this page offers home visits in at least part of the metro. Baby Latch Love lists home visits from Plano and Frisco down to Dallas, Oak Cliff and DeSoto, Natural Beginnings serves Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties, and Alyssa Peri covers the area around Wylie plus parts of Dallas and Mesquite. Office visits are available in Plano, Garland, Mesquite and on Swiss Avenue in Dallas.

What is an IBCLC?

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant has passed the IBLCE board exam and must recertify every five years. Every consultant on this page lists the IBCLC credential on their own practice site.

How did you choose which consultants to list?

We started from two public registries, the ILCA Find a Lactation Consultant directory and the USLCA member directory, added Dallas-area practices found through Bornbir and search, and kept IBCLCs in private practice with a live practice website that names them. Hospital and WIC roles, sites that were dead or taken over, course-only businesses and doula agencies that do not name a lactation consultant individually are not listed.
