About Kate

Kate DiMarco Ruck, BA, IBCLC is a warm, compassionate, and knowledgeable International Board Certified Lactation Consultant providing lactation support to families in the New York Metro Area and to clients virtually, anywhere. She is trained in the Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad and in Rhythmic Movement and Reflexes in the Infant, and is PSI certified in Perinatal Mental Health, meaning she can help clients identify and manage Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). She takes a holistic, judgment-free approach and has extensive experience with low milk supply, tongue tie and tethered oral tissues, latch issues, slow weight gain, oversupply, mastitis, relactation, return-to-work, and baby-led weaning, among many other challenges. Kate is the founder of The Parenting Studio in Brooklyn, formerly served on the NYLCA board as Education/Events Director, and is an inclusive practitioner committed to anti-racism.

Services

Office or Virtual Visits only (no home visits); all prenatal visits are virtual. Kate works closely with parents to develop a comprehensive infant feeding plan, teaches prenatal lactation classes, and offers professional mentorship and teaching/speaking. Insurance-covered office and virtual visits are available through The Lactation Network (Cigna, BCBS, Humana, GHI/Emblem Health, MultiPlan) and through Cass Christopher Lactation Consulting (Aetna, Meritain, United Healthcare/Oxford Freedom/UMR, Anthem/BCBS). A sliding scale is available for those experiencing financial difficulty.
