Eleanor's advice was completely invaluable to me during those mad early newborn days. When I met Eleanor I was at breaking point. I had been failed by all of the healthcare professionals I'd seen in the early weeks post-partum, as my baby's tongue tie had gone undiagnosed for almost 2 months while I suffered the very painful consequences of a poor latch. I was determined I wanted to continue breastfeeding but felt like that choice was slowly slipping through my fingers. Eleanor was the first person I really felt took me seriously, and didn't once suggest to give up breastfeeding my baby as a solution. She performed a full oral function assessment to confirm there was restricted movement and guided me to a trusted practitioner to perform a frenulotomy within the week. She also supported me through the healing process from the physical trauma, whilst ensuring I was able to maintain exclusively breastfeeding my baby. Eleanor is just who you need in a room when you're having a meltdown because your baby is kicking and crying and won't latch on again when you're in the midst of a baby mum group. When this happened recently and I was visibly struggling, Eleanor swooped in to help me with my baby and then offered to sit down with us separately,watch our feed and talk through the challenges I'd been having. She was supportive, calming knowledgeable and also had a sense of humour which really helps when you're frazzled and frustrated. Eleanor is absolutely amazing, and I would recommend her to anyone who requires the services of a lactation consultant. She is kind, compassionate, and caring and incredibly reassuring.
